Extropy Green provides Design & Verification Compliance services compliant with California Energy Commission (CEC), and is certified to provide energy calculations and field verification services (HERS inspection services).
Energy Budget Design & Compliance
Extropy Green's services model is designed to help you plan your energy calculation needs, based on the dynamics of your project. Project designs are rarely cast in stone from inception - our flexible engagement model minimizes cost overruns by incorporating allowances for change requests.
Non-Residential Design
Commercial, Hotel/Motel, and high-rise residential design compliance as three major areas of compliance, Envelope, Mechanical, and Lighting. Our Project Submission Checklist will guide you in determining the required information to minimize re-work.
Depending on the needs of your design goals, the resulting calculations and reports you will receive include:
- Heating/Cooling Load Calculations.
- Lighting Performance Calculations
- Certificate of Compliance Reports (Lighting, Mechanical, Envelope).
- Zone and Room Load Calculations
- Inspection Checklists.
- Lifecycle Costing
Low-Rise Residential Design
Low-Rise residential designs include single family homes and multi-family homes 3 stories or less. Use our Project Submission Checklist to aid in preparing your package and outlining your energy performance goals.
Depending on your performance objectives and incentive programs, the resulting calculations and reports you will receive include:
- Manual J Block Load Calculations (Heating/Cooling Load)
- Lighting Performance Calculations
- Compliance Reports and Certificates of Compliance.
- Tax Credit Calculations and Reports
- Inspection Checklists.
HERS Field Verification
Extropy Green is licensed to perform Residential and Commercial field verification procedures. Depending on the project size, and the number of energy features requiring verification, you may be eligible to use sampling options to save on cost.
Field verification usually proceeds with minimal interruption if planned during the early construction phases; however, in some cases it is required to meet requisite criteria for . To get a free quotation or to place an order, simply submit your design compliance here.
Extropy Green is a member of the United States Green Building Council and employs LEED accredited professionals for New Construction and Major Remodels. We can provide you with access to certification resources and can assist you in developing your designs to maximize the number of available points in energy performance.
LEED EA Credits & Points
For LEED certification, there are a total of 17 available points in the credit category of Energy and Atmosphere; as you may know, EA points account for 20-33% of the total points earned for a typical project, so this is not an area where you want to "leave points on the table."
Maximizing the return on EA points (beyond meeting the pre-requisites), begins with demonstrated energy performance beyond baseline standards through Mathematical Modeling (Option #1 Whole Building Simulation).
Points may also be earned for on-site renewable energy, enhanced commissioning & refrigeration management, Measurement & Verification, and Green Power.
To get a no-cost quotation for services designed to maximize your LEED EA credits, fill out the LEED Project Input Form, and submit it below.
